oh look, I have a blog!
I'm so not a good blogger. If there's anybody that actually stops by here to see if I've posted another quiz that you've probably already taken because I found it on your blog in the first place, I've been busy in the midst of having a quiet little nervous breakdown since I'm [thisclose] to being smack in the middle of producing my deck. The cards have at long last been printed! Nearly 5000 individual images all staring back at me from 12"x18" sheets, grouped 6 cards per sheet. And once I get them all cut down, I will have enough to make a limited edition of 52 laminated decks (card size 3.33" x 5") and 125 unlaminated 'art card' sets (card size 4"x6")...I've got tastefully creative packaging for both sets planned and somewhat under control (ie: either purchased or in the midst of making) I'm 1/3 of the way finished writing the text for my little white booklet and I have illustrations for the LWB completed. I bought a reeeeaally snazzy paper cutter to cut the cards down with. I totally recommend this seller too - great price (I did my research) and super fast shipping - packed really secure.
Trouble is, I haven't had time to get into the middle of cutting all the stacks of paper I have boxed up at the moment. There's days I've come home from work the past week and a half that I'm just a big ol' limp noodle with a fried brain. (would you like fries with that, maam?) And I need a good quality corner rounder that will cut through laminate. This is the one I'm thinking about splurging on. This is the one I got tonight at Staples for $4.99. Lemmie tell ya, the five buck model ain't going to cut 5616 laminated corners - as I was watching 'Lost' earlier, I managed to cut 20 corners before I got totally frustrated by the punch getting stuck and locking up on the laminate...but other times it would punch it right off, nice and smooth. I think this punch will work great for paper and cardstock - but it is not a friend to plastic. So I guess I need to scout around to find the best lowball price on that splurge model.
Oh and speaking of Staples...I've taken things to their printing department to have color copies made and have been quite pleased with the results...but I took my latest card for Red Dog Scott's collaborative art deck project there to be printed after I got off work today and well, let's just say I need to be more meticulous in double checking stuff before I leave - it looked fine when I proofed the first copy - they tiled 4 cards on a sheet and there were white margin edges all around and I looked closely at the card in the upper left hand corner to check the image quality and it was just fine...because it's the only card on the whole sheet that didn't get cut off along the bottom and/or the right hand side! Sheesh! Now I have to take it back in the morning before I go into work and get them to re-do it so I can get these cards in the mail tomorrow!
O.K. enough with the cathartic journaling experience here. I'm still stressed. Writing it doesn't help me feel better it only makes me feel guilty because I'm wasting my time on the vanity of blogging when I should be trimming down 4779 tarot cards...well, I have about 250 done already (woo hoo...what a huge head start!)
So if you stop by my blog...like, ever, please be patient with the deja vu quizzes and other rehashed offerings I post on occasion. Maybe one day you'll stumble into something more interesting. Anything's possible you know!
